Building on the success of previous open days, this year’s event was designed to deliver even more demonstrations, practical learning opportunities, and meaningful conversations around the future of stone fabrication. From live machinery demonstrations and new product launches to expert-led discussions on health and safety, the day brought the industry together in a relaxed and engaging environment, focusing on innovation and driving the stone industry forward. Tackling the industry’s biggest problems
Health and safety remained one of the core focuses of the event, with expert speakers Stephen Smith of Addex Group, Damien Eaves of BOHS and Jeremiah Clark of Stonegate addressing some of the most pressing challenges currently facing fabricators – particularly around dust extraction, workshop safety and best practice fabrication methods.
These discussions sparked honest and insightful conversations throughout the day, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and explore solutions that could be implemented within their own workshops.
A major talking point during the event was the launch of the brand new H-Class MaxVac Vacuum and Dust Cowl system – our latest solution guaranteed to support safer, cleaner and more effective dust management during hand fabrication. By increasing awareness of the dangers around airborne silica dust and promoting gold standard extraction solutions, this product generated significant interest from fabricators actively looking to improve protection for their fabricators and overall compliance.
Live demonstrations at the Innovation Hub
Throughout the day, our fully operational Innovation Hub was packed with live demonstrations showcasing tooling and fabrication techniques in real workshop conditions.
Attendees were able to see cutting, CNC work, and laser templating demonstrations first hand, while talking to our technicians about the processes, tooling setups and best practices. Rather than just displaying products like generic exhibitions, the demonstrations focused on showing fabricators how the right tooling and processes are guaranteed to improve efficiency, reduce downtime and consistently deliver exceptional finish quality across all materials.
One of the key solutions demonstrated during the event was our exclusive Infinity Tooling range – high performance CNC tooling developed to maximise precision, consistency and lifespan. This was presented alongside Optimo, which is our CNC tooling optimisation service designed to help fabricators increase productivity while reducing unnecessary tooling costs, and eliminating hand finishing.
We also showcased our range of fully refurbished Marmo Meccanica edge polishers. These machines are proof of how a combination of the solid Marmo Meccanica mechanism and Stonegate’s expert refurbishment service allows fabricators to achieve outstanding polishing results even on a second-hand machine.
Showcasing the latest surface materials
Alongside the live demonstrations, the event also brought together some of the industry’s leading material suppliers.
Representatives from Caesarstone, Laminam, Florim, Marazzi, Brachot, iStone and Clay International showcased their latest surfaces, colours and designs, giving the attendees the opportunity to explore new trends and discuss these with the manufacturers themselves.
The material showcase created a real buzz throughout the day, with the interest it generated showing proof of the growing demand for new materials within the industry.
An industry event
While the demonstrations, products and expert-led discussions formed a huge part of the day, we were also joined by various other industry suppliers, such as Elephant Srl, Optrel Swiss Air, Trolex, Tough Glove, ITAFIX and many others who showcased their products and solutions for attendees to browse.
With fabricators, suppliers and industry professionals all in one place, The Stone Fabricators Event was a hub for peer-to-peer networking and information sharing.
In true Stonegate style, the day wasn’t complete without great food and hospitality. Gourmet burgers and sides were served for lunch, while the all-day bar served from start to finish.
