Ultra-compact surfaces such as Dekton, Neolith and Laminam are becoming increasingly popular, and the trend is likely to only continue as more material suppliers produce their own ranges. In fact, a recent report predicted porcelain, ceramic and UCS worktop sales to grow by 46% from 2022 to 2030, the largest increase of any worktop material.
Once seen as an extremely difficult material to manufacture, huge advances have been made in porcelain tooling to make it a more readily available and cost-effective choice for consumers. Here at Stonegate, we’ve worked alongside fabricators and manufacturers to develop and deliver a world-leading, next-generation porcelain blade: the Emperor Mk2.
Speed
Available exclusively from Stonegate, the Emperor Mk2 is a refinement on the original Emperor blade. The Emperor Mk2 can be run comfortably at the speed of 3 metres per minute, and even faster when required, without compromising quality. This is way over the industry-standard speeds on porcelain, ceramic and UCS – and not only can it cut as quickly as granite or engineered stone blades, but it delivers a flawless finish, first time! Please bear in mind, that like all tooling, you will only get the best results by running the Emperor Mk2 at the correct parameters. This can vary depending on your saw, operator, water quality or the actual type of porcelain you’re working with. If you’re unsure, we’ll be happy to provide you with guidance or there are some handy tips in our guide here.
Versatile and quiet
After years of research and development, using feedback from fabricators, we were able to deliver a blade to market that is quick, quiet but also reliable for mitring too. The Emperor Mk2 has a silent core of solid steel, unlike many other porcelain blades which have a layered body which can tend to delaminate, particularly after excessive use or under the stress of angled mitred cuts. This makes it better for mitres and also quieter too. This versatility makes it a great all-round solution for cutting any porcelain, ceramic or UCS materials you are planning to fabricate. Not only that, because of this core, the Emperor Mk2 cuts quietly too, so you can get a perfect finish without the awful, high-pitched squealing you might associate with a porcelain blade.
Life and efficiency
The Emperor Mk2 delivers speed and consistency of cut without compromising on life. With a proven lifespan of up to 600 linear metres, provided it is run correctly, this blade outperforms competitors not only on speed, but also on durability and efficiency. Our experienced technicians ran extensive testing trials across a range of blades in our Innovation Hub testing facility, and results show that this super long life could generate savings of up to 40% on porcelain diamond blades for your business!
Accuracy
Even with all of these benefits, we guarantee that you won’t be compromising on the unrivalled finish the blade delivers – it gives an incredible, chip-free cut on a wide range of porcelain, ceramic and UCS materials. We know this thanks to the extensive and rigorous testing program we put all of Stonegate tooling through at our Innovation Hub. If you don’t believe us, we are happy to show you for yourself, either at our live testing facility or on-site in your factory. You can also rest assured that the experienced Stonegate Technical Team are on hand to help you with guidance on parameters and the best way to run the blade on your machine in order to deliver perfect results.
